My work with optical flow and style transfer came after being inspired by the music video for "When You Die" by MGMT, directed by Mike Burakoff with creative director Jamie. I followed their studies on instagram and eventually found the code base used to perform this magic.

For efficiency I created a custom workflow and version of the software. My contributions to the code base allowed for quickly iterating on ideas, allowing me to produce daily, sometimes multiple times a day, other-worldy videos.

Having iterated on so many textures I can look back at the studies of my inspiration and see through to the same source images I've processed. Small world!
